The Makerbot MK8 heatsink black is a 40×40×11 mm black anodised aluminium heat sink designed to keep the hot end of a Makerbot MK7/MK8 extruder cool and prevent heat creep during printing.

Fitting a Makerbot MK8 heatsink black between the hot end and the extruder body blocks heat from travelling up the filament path. In addition, the black anodised finish improves radiative heat dissipation compared to bare aluminium, helping maintain a consistent cold zone during long prints.
